Melinda and her husband, Jayson, are the founders of Soul Sweat Hot Yoga. Melinda is passionate about yoga and her community, which is evident in her teaching as you can always find her with a smile. Working a high stress job as a criminal prosecutor and training for several Ironman races led Melinda to hot yoga. A consistent practice helped her build strength and flexibility as well as learning to find stillness and contentment in the present moment.
Melinda is an E-RYT 500. Melinda received her initial 200-hour training with Sumits Hot Yoga and sequence creator, Sumit Banjeree. Several years later, she started her journey into her 500-hour advanced yoga certification with Wanderlust Austin under the guidance of teachers and mentors, Leah Cullis and Kate Waitzkin. Melinda later completed a second 300-hour training with Jason Crandell, whom she continues to study with to this day. She is also certified in both yin and aerial yoga.
Melinda’s classes have a strong focus on alignment, coupled with strong and dynamic movement. Add in her reputation for good tunes, you are guaranteed a fiery class. Melinda is also the yoga instructor for the Dallas Cowboys football team.
When not at the studio, Melinda can be found with her other loves- her husband, Jayson, their cat Smeagol and two rescue pups, Sir Charles and Lord JoJo. Melinda hopes Soul Sweat becomes your second home where you can find a safe place to just be you and be in the present. A place where yoga is family, where sweat is happiness and where you will always find a friendly face. A place that will set your soul on fire!
