Born and raised in Fort Worth, Katherine thought she knew all the cool, local gems until she was introduced to SSHY’s community. Katherine started her fitness journey in 2011 and lost almost 150 pounds over the course of a few years. She believes her fitness journey has shaped her into the person she is today and has made her more aware of making healthier decisions for her body. She believes how you internally speak to yourself matters and surrounding yourself with the energy you want to attract is so important.
Katherine’s SSHY journey and personal yoga practice began in 2018 working the front desk. Fast forward a year later, she was given the opportunity to work part time as the studio’s marketing director. Katherine graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Bachelor of Journalism in 2021. Once graduated, she became the full time Director of Marketing and Events. She has learned and grown so much in the past few years and wants to thank everyone who has contributed along the way.
Katherine completed her 200hr teacher training and aerial certification through the studio under Melinda Nag.
Katherine knows yoga can be intimidating and loves to make all new yogis feel as welcome and accepted as possible. A consistent yoga practice has given Katherine the proper tools to control her depression and anxiety. Out of the many things yoga has taught Katherine, she finds herself referring to the power of breath when life gets hectic — Box breath is her favorite.
