Rachel Linker

Rachel first became interested in yoga in college when she needed a new hobby after being a competitive equestrian. Initially interest by the physical challenge yoga offered, Rachel soon started appreciating the sanctuary and reprieve from the world her mat offered. Yoga has been a place of both challenges and nurturing for Rachel, and always offers something new to learn and explore. After graduating college in 2017 Rachel went on to complete her 200-hour RYT training with Sumit Banjeree in Scotttsdale, AZ and began under Shannon VanDeusen at Sumits Tucson before moving to Fort Worth for graduate school and finding her home at Soul Sweat. Rachel has since completed her 300hr certification under Melinda Nag making her a 500hr RYT.

After taking a year off from teaching to focus on her studies, she missed it too much to stay away any longer and began teaching again under the tutelage of Melinda. Rachel immediately fell into the community and connections she found within the studio, and has been able to grow as both a student and a teacher. Soul Sweat has become a second home to Rachel and always offers her a place to escape from the real world, if only for an hour.

When she is not on her mat, Rachel stays busy with her work as an infectious disease epidemiologist and enjoys spin classes, weightlifting and long walks on the trinity trails where she loves to catch the evening sunset. In Rachel’s classes you can expect a safe environment to come as you are, and take what you need from yoga. Whether that’s getting sweaty and trying some fun new poses, or just resting on your mat for an hour- all are welcome.  Anticipate upbeat music featuring her favorite artists Illenium, Odesza and Gryffin in both her sequence classes and vin-yin fusion!
